The long version.
I started building websites before Google was a verb. For 15 years I led e-commerce operations at USOutdoor.com — running high-volume online retail where search traffic was the bloodstream. That is where I learned traffic means nothing if it doesn’t convert, and that the best marketing is invisible infrastructure.
In 1999 I founded Webfu, an SEO and web development consultancy in Oregon. Twenty-five years and hundreds of clients later, the core of the work hasn’t changed — get clarity on who the business is for, build the technical foundation so machines can understand it, then make sure the right humans keep finding it.
I also served in the Oregon Air National Guard. That taught me discipline, systems thinking, and how to execute under pressure — useful traits when a client’s traffic drops 40% the week before a launch.
Today the frontier is AI search. ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, and Bing Copilot are rewriting how people ask questions and evaluate businesses. I help companies show up there the same way I helped them show up on Google 20 years ago: structured data, smart content, sharp technical foundations, and automations that close the loop from query to booked appointment.
